September 20, 2012 - Logging Line

The turntable is now operational. Gravel will be added to the inside to keep it clean and dry and fill needs to be added on the outside of the ring. Most importantly, we need some tracks. Current plan is to split the track into the main and two sidings with all three terminating on the turntable.

Wednesday morning was really crisp at about 35 degrees and frost; fall has arrived! Photo shows Dick and Clee finishing the grade crossing on the plateau just north of the ravine.

Clee, Ed and Tim are laying track beyond the crossing. The turntable is about 200 feet beyond where they are working. This weekend is a work weekend. Hopefully we'll get some help ballasting the 500+ feet of track south and west of the grade cossing.
