Over the past couple of weeks we have been expanding our utilities to two different parts of the property. When completed, we will have upgraded power and water along with WiFi around the property. Here are a few pictures of our project to date.

We have three of our weekends busy this month as we roll into, what is typically, our largest event of the year, the Large Engine Meet. But we have a whole bunch more going on as well. We have a work weekend this coming Friday and Saturday to prepare for the Large Engine Meet. Come on out and give us a hand. Our project list this weekend includes taking down three trees and cutting them up, building track panels, cleaning up along the right of way as the foliage has begun to grow into it in some areas, some ballast work, cutting some ties, cleaning gutters and downspouts, power spraying our steps leading down to the valley division from Barney yard, just

Central Ohio Area Live Steams (COALS) announced the purchase of the Mill Creek Central Railroad from Dick McCloy last weekend at the annual Members Only Meet. COALS successfully acquired the property as well as significant assets associated with operating, maintaining and improving the property. This will also give you a chance to meet other members as well. Also, we will be gathering on Saturday, June 20th, for our Annual Business Meeting with the Members to discuss our future plans, introduce you to the Board, and plan to make a special announcement. Mill Creek Central Railroad's June work session was originally scheduled for Friday, June 5th and Saturday June 6th. Due to the scheduled arrival of UP 4014 during those dates in northern Ohio we push our work session out a week, to June 12th and June 13th. This will be the first year where we are combining our Dispatch meet with our Card Order Meet. This work session will be a little different in that we intend to work on Friday and part of Saturday, and then those who are participating can get their equipment out and enjoy the railroad! There is still plenty to do as we continue to recover from the windstorm from a few weeks ago, so come out, give us a hand, and ride some trains!

We plan on doing some track work, drainage cleanout, as well as clearing and collecting debris in the mountain division. With last week’s windstorms creating such havoc at the track we could sure use all the help we can get. We had a small crew out this weekend to start some of the cleanup. We had 10 trees that had fallen or needed felled. We also had 6 locations on the track that needed repaired due to tree and limb damage. So please come out and join us. Due to the poor weather and low temperatures anticipated at Mill Creek Central Railroad this coming Saturday we have decided to cancel the Turkey Run for this year. Come join us this Saturday as we close out the work season with our final work cleanup day. We’ve gotten the railroad in pretty good shape for the winter and plan on clearing the remaining leaves and debris that have fallen over the past couple of weeks. Hope to see you there.
