2022 Large Engine Meet at Mill Creek Central: August 3th - 7th

Please read the entire blog for important information, found below for this year's event!

If you want to see a lot of equipment running along with more steam engines than you could hope to see anywhere else in the East then you'll want to attend our Large Engine Meet, officially scheduled for August 3rd - 7th. The reason I say officially scheduled is due to the fact that we are aware of numerous individuals who plan to attend, with some already here! And don't forget, you don't have to have a large engine, or a steam engine for that matter, to attend and enjoy the festivities.

Also, if you are coming to the track, eastbound from Newark on Ohio State Route 16, please note that the road is closed to all eastbound through traffic and the state has you exiting on Ohio State Route 60. One way around this is after being forced off of State Route 60 get right back on the State Route 16 entrance ramp (still being used for local traffic) and take the first road to the left. This will be Spease Road and is located at the bottom of the hill as it comes together to form 2 lanes. If you follow this road it (with the proper turns) will take you to County Road 6 and right past Mill Creek Central Railroad, which is 8.7 miles from this turn. Please use some form of navigation the first time you do this so you don't get lost! The road is a little meandering and has beautiful countryside so take your time as you travel it. Clearly you can also follow the recommended state route detour should you wish as well, it will just take a little longer to get to the track.

We know of several vendors who are planning to attend and for those vendors who would like to set up a spot to show their wares, we'd be happy to find you a place at the track for you to do so.

We will again have a food truck this year, Thursday through Saturday, to allow those who would like to spend more time on the rails to do so.

We have not yet completed our extension yet but you should be able to see the excavation of the new right of way going in, including about 2/3rds of the track in place. The extension will be officially open during next year's Buckeye Limited Convention.

So be sure to bring your lawn chairs, tents and also bring those extension cords if you have an electric engine! We also have coal in for the event as well, so if you need a few buckets get with Dick or one of the volunteers to see how to acquire some of those black diamonds for your engine.

One last thing, if you'd like to volunteer to help us keep things running smoothly please let me know, either by email at jimhenry@millcreekcentral.com or just come see Dick or me when you show up at the track.

We're looking forward to seeing you all and hope you have a safe trip out to Coshocton!
