July 5, 2015 - Preparing for logging meet

Last week we had ~ 2 inches of rain (relatively dry for this year) and a bit of wind which took down a cherry tree. The tree was on the creek bank behind the roundhouse and fell over the entrance to Vanderkarr and the north end of Daffodil siding. Fortunately an old gray overfed lumberjack from Raccoon Valley Lumber came along and sawed the tree into manageable lengths and cleared the right-of-way. The logs are along the track to be hauled away during the logging meet.

The track is ready for the meet next weekend and the long range weather forecast is a bit better than recently. See you all then.
